Are you a potential client?
We don’t do everything, and we aren’t for everyone. Braaten Woods focuses primarily on two types of companies – technology companies and service businesses (sure, we’ve helped M&A buyers and sellers in other industries, although that’s not our norm).
We focus on selling technology and service businesses for two reasons – the first is practical. Our founder has a lot of experience in tech and he has started and grown professional service businesses (Braaten Woods included) and sold a residential mortgage company. The other reason is passion – it may sound geeky, but we love tech and people. Maybe artificial intelligence will run everything one day, although until then people are critical and getting that human element right – recruiting, onboarding, incentivizing, and managing people is challenging but rewarding. Meanwhile, technology sparks innovation, increases efficiency, and drives scalability. It is the engine of modern progress. And, if you can merge people and tech, well don’t get us started!
From an M&A brokerage standpoint, technology and service businesses each have unique nuances compared to other industries, including their own opportunities and challenges (e.g., convincing buyers that the people will stick around and the tech will remain relevant). So, if you’re selling a tech or service business in the $1 million - $20 million range, call us and let’s explore if we’re a great fit to work together to help you sell your business.
